Biography & Experience
I came from a farming background in Southland, my father was a leading Horse Trainer. After attending Otago University, I spent time in the fitness industry before entering the Insurance Industry in 1984 when I joined Provident Life Insurance Company, which was eventually purchased by Royal Sun Alliance. I spent some time in Australia, again in the fitness and in sales, before coming back to insurance in 2000 when I joined Crombie Lockwood in Christichurch.
Over the following 20 years, I worked for: AON Insurance Brokers, AXA, Kiwibank Insurance, Stone & Associates, ANZ Bank Insurance, TOWER, and NIB. I also ran my own business as a Financial Adviser in later years.
In the early 2000's I studied for a minor Life Underwriter Qualification, which allowed me to work within AXA Life Underwriting for a period of time, this being an invaluable learning experience which helped me a lot in the following years as a Senior Life Insurance Adviser.
